“…Makes me want to buy school supplies.”

Let’s settle some stereotypes real quick.

New York City Myth No. 1: It’s hectic, crazy, and fast-paced.

False. It’s surprisingly calm, relaxing, and peaceful. At least that’s the case on the Upper West Side (where Haley and I are staying and the only place we have explored so far).

New York City Myth No. 2: People are rude (“It’s the North”)

False. Everyone has been so fun and friendly and warm.

Praise for beautiful cities, relaxing days, and kind people.

Here are some photos from our first afternoon in the Big Apple. (You can see Haley’s here.)

When we came out of Penn Station, we realized we just came out from under Madison Square Garden and then we flipped out a bit.

Haley almost cried.

This is the Post Office. I was googly eyed.

This is the view out our hotel window (that’s the Hudson River in the distance).

Y’all. Fall is here and it is STUNNING.

Notice our friends in the corner hailing a cab (aka showing us how it’s done).

We randomly walked by this place and decided to eat dinner here, which will undoubtedly go down in history as one of our better life decisions.

I’ve eaten a great deal of burgers in my life and this is by far the best. Praise God for AG Kitchen (the chef, Alex Garcia, has had two Food Network shows, something we didn’t know before entering the restaurant but we can now confirm he earned those shows).

This is the way you look at the dessert menu. Are you serious?! SO FUN.
