I want to be spent for Jesus.
My name is Sophie, I’m 31 and have been mesmerized by the God of the universe.
His glory is the reason I have breath and His Gospel the reason I’m no longer who I used to be.
My passion is for the nations to both see and be transformed by the stunning truth of the Gospel, but my heart beats with a fiery desire for young girls and women to see the real source of beauty—Jesus Christ. I am convinced true beauty comes only from a life fully devoted to following Christ and that until God is enough, nothing ever will be.
To this Truth I give my tiny vapor of a life.
You can also find me in the RTM Magazine archives, where I served for six years as the assistant editor, and as a contributing writer for Unlocking the Bible and The Gospel Coalition.
A few things I love:
The Gospel
The world
Adoption
Blue ink pens
Handwritten letters
Books
The Olympics
Psalm 16
Warm patches of sunshine
Coffee
Journaling
Basketball + Baseball
All things fall
“God is the highest good of the reasonable creature. The enjoyment of Him is our proper; and is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to Heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here. Better than fathers and mothers, husbands, wives or children or the company of any or all earthly friends. These are but shadows; but the enjoyment of God is the substance. These are but scattered beams; but God is the sun. These are but streams; but God is the fountain. These are but drops, but God is the ocean.” -Jonathan Edwards

Are you Catholic?
Hi Trevor! I’m not Catholic.
Hi! I am working with a girls youth ministry in Alabama and the Lord has laid upon my heart to do something very similar to your True Beauty Conference. I came across your blog through a friend on Facebook with your awesome post about Waiting and Responding (which literally was so encouraging). I would LOVE to get some ideas, info, and eventually hear about how it goes in March! Maybe even try to come?!? That may be a stretch but seriously,it sounds awesome!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Brooke
Hi Brooke! Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement and for taking the time to write. It would be an amazing privilege to get to talk with you about our mutual love for girls ministry and the True Beauty Conference. Ahh, let’s talk! My email is sophie[at]realtruthmatters[dot]com, send me an email and we’ll pretend we’re meeting up for coffee and have a little chat 🙂 Can’t wait!
Hi I’ve nominated you for the Sisterhood Award. I appreciate how you are spreading Jesus for the world to see. See my post today. 🙂
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for what you are doing. You have encouraged my heart to go and do what God wants of me. It is also wonderful to see young people like yourself being the hands and feet of Christ. I blog sometimes, but they are just words with no action at the moment. I am a work in progress becoming the peculiar treasure that God desires.
Amanda! Thank you so much for taking the time to write and for those sweet words of encouragement–they mean so much to me. We are all works in progress, are we not? But praise to the Master Artist who has promised to bring us to completion! I hope to see you around the blogosphere more and more! 🙂
Hello Sophie!

I came upon an article you wrote about Recharging your soul while i was searching the topic for an upcoming women’s conference that my women’s ministry is hosting. I would love to connect more with you! Thank you for all that you do! May God continue to bless you and your ministry.
