I’m in love with this city.
Maybe I should clarify: I’m in love with our hotel. We haven’t actually, you know, been anywhere else yet… #introvertprobs.
We’re staying at Head of the River and it might be the best place I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve never before written a hotel review but I feel as though this might turn into one. Let’s make it easy: this hotel is like Mary Poppins—practically perfect in every way.
All the rooms on our floor are named after writers who attended Oxford.
Ours is the C. S. Lewis room. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. My heart experienced spontaneous combustion and joy particles went everywhere. Sorry, cleaning staff.
I just cannot express how much I adore Clive and HERE WE ARE.
Across the hall is J. R. R. Tolkien and down the hall is Oscar Wilde, Christopher Wren and T. S. Eliot. NO BIG DEAL. *faints*

We have two windows and two windowsills that are perfect for journaling and sitting and dreaming and praying. Praise.
Also, just look at this bathroom. Look at it. Look at it right now.

IT’S A RAIN SHOWER HEAD. IS THIS HEAVEN?

The outside courtyard. It’s raining. “Even the rain is charming.” -Haley

One of the walls on the way to our room. (DID I MENTION WE HAVE A C. S. LEWIS ROOM?!)

This is the pub/coffee shop downstairs. AKA: Our happy place.
Haley described the hotel the best: it’s straight from a British movie.
Have you ever seen Leap Year? You know how the girl has to go to the pub counter to check into the hotels? That’s what we had to do. (Also, note to self: work on describing things better.) Oh my word, it’s so English and so beautiful and perfect. I cannot contain my excitement.
Now we’re in the pub in a quaint little cove across from the crackling fireplace writing, editing photos, journaling and constantly saying how ecstatic we are to be here.
God is so kind to us. Praise Him from whom all blessings flow.
Such a cool hotel! I like how it is just not like all the other hotels. Thanks a lot for the review 🙂
It’s so awesome! You should definitely go if you get the chance. There’s not one thing I don’t love.
Sounds truly amazing. Thanks a lot for the recommendation 🙂
