(My full time job is the assistant editor over at RTM Magazine and the following is an excerpt from a full post on the Real Truth Matters blog. Head over there to read the full story and to find Elisabeth’s favorite hymn.)
On June 15, 2015, Elisabeth Elliot-Gren died.
Ever since my roommate in college gave me a copy of Passion and Purity, Elisabeth has been one of my heroes. Through many of her books (all of which are on my list to read before I’m 30) she has walked with me on my journey to the Celestial City, helping me (along with my mom and other women in our church) navigate the waters of womanhood and how the Bible defines biblical femininity, masculinity and relationships, among other things.
Through the RTM Magazine, we became acquainted with her husband, Lars Gren, as he gave us permission to reprint some of Elisabeth’s articles first published in The Elisabeth Elliot Newsletter. I will always treasure the phone calls and letters with him and his sweet and firm nature as we exchanged stories and life updates.

I just want to know, if Lars Gren is still living. I followed Elizabeth Elliott, since her husband Jim and 4 other missionaries were speared to death as they endeavored to reach the then Acua Indians. I have admired the way Lars took care of Eluzabth during her mb any years livkb GB with dementia. That was my field of expertise as given by the Lord.
Hello, Kay. I’m not for sure. I haven’t spoken with him since after Elisabeth’s funeral. The last I heard, he was. Sorry I couldn’t help you.
