Life is full of plot twists, isn’t it?
The last eight months have unfolded into one beautiful plot twist after another, stirring my heart with so much joy and even more love for the One who authors this grace-drenched life. Lots of things have happened and one day those things will work its way into sentences and paragraphs to share with others, but until then, here are some things I’ve been up to:
Writing here: A Hurried Life isn’t a Holy Life on Unlocking the Bible
Being interviewed about books and writing here: Book Corner Blog-guest: Sophie McDonald
Listening to and loving these sermons: Greg Gilbert, Romans 9:16-24, “God’s Choice”
Jack Hester, “Family Discipleship”
Repeating these albums: Prayers of the Saints Live by Sovereign Grace Music (my heart songs)
Magic by Ben Rector (what a stellar summer-y, fun, karaoke-worthy album)
The Heat by Needtobreathe (this album has always been like a warm blanket on my heart)
Reading these books (currently) : A Little Book on the Christian Life by John Calvin
Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold by C. S. Lewis
Anne of Windy Poplars by L.M. Montgomery
C. S. Lewis on the Christian Life: Becoming Truly Human in the Presence of God by Joe Rigney
And here are a few lot of snapshots from the last few months:

So grateful for this amazing group of women and for the gift of being with them and thousands of others at TGCW in June.

What a gift this beauty is to me. A faithful friend and editor, Kristen is a gem. Do your heart a favor and go read all of her stuff.

Jaquelle Crowe is a gift to the church, one God is using to awaken, teach, and influence a generation of teenagers for the glory of the Jesus and the advancement of His Gospel. I’m so thankful for her ministry and friendship and all God is doing in and through her. Read every ounce of her stuff then give it away to every teenager (and person who comes in contact with teenagers) you know.

The end of June sent my girls and me into the jungle where we met my homeboy, TipTop the giraffe. And by homeboy, I mean this fake plaster thing, and by jungle I mean, Maggie’s Jungle Golf.

Dreams came true in July when my True Beauty girls got to go on a beach retreat for six glorious days of sunshine, laughter, fun, memories, and remembering Jesus is better.

“O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as You are, O Lord, with Your faithfulness all around You? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, You still them.” -Psalm 89:8-9

Dinner in PCB. Y’all, I love them so much it hurts.

No recap of the last few months would be complete without a picture of the only dog I’ve ever loved.

LOOK AT HIM. HE IS SO CUTE, I CAN’T HANDLE IT.

The end of July brought the end-of-summer dinner with my babies. I could not be more proud of these stunning women.

Nanny life = full arms + full heart + candid photos in Chick-Fil-A’s playground.

Celebrating the end of summer and the start of a new school year at Holiday World with my baby nephew.

I can’t get enough of him and his freckles.

This past weekend was spent celebrating one of my dearest friends as she prepares to marry her best friend in less than two weeks. Grace abounds.
“May we be enabled to go on, brave as lions, and valiant for the truth and cause of King Jesus, and by the help of the Spirit, vow eternal warfare with every sin, and rest not until the sword of the Spirit has destroyed all the enemies in our hearts!” -Charles Spurgeon
