Fear = an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
What is it about fears that so easily ensnares us?
The last six months have brought with it a significant amount of joy, a significant amount of challenges and a significant amount of exposure to pretty much every fear-related thing in my heart. There’s been lots of tearing down, lots of pruning and lots of learning to deal with fear.
In the new RTM Magazine, all the articles and resources therein swirl around the topic of fear. I wrote about God destroying some of the walls around my heart and the tiny fear soldiers revealed in the process, author and speaker Trillia Newbell shared her top three fears and how she faces them, my former Sunday school teacher wrote about the most prevalent fears and whether we are motivated by them or faith, my boss wrote about the fear of Jesus, and my dear friend Lori McDaniel wrote about what to do if we’re afraid of sharing the Gospel. Other resources include stories either by or about Corrie ten Boom, Charles Spurgeon, John Piper and more. (Insert all the heart eyes. I love everything in this issue.)
I’m the assistant editor so clearly I’m speaking as an objective third party, but this is a [free] resource you won’t want to miss. We pray it is an encouragement to your soul and more equipment for your arsenal as you actively pursue the goal of the Gospel: the day when we all, with unveiled face, will behold the glory of the Lord, being fully transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18).
