Monday Morning Munch No. 106 – When God Disappoints You

159H

What I’m learning:

God does not disappoint.

If we are disappointed, it’s because God didn’t act according to our preset expectations not because He let us down.

“…hope does not disappoint…” (Romans 5:5)

“Do not fear or be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go…” (Joshua 1:9)

Disappoint = Fail to fulfill the hopes or expectations of someone

God does not fail.

But we can fail by setting our expectations and hopes on something other than Him.

Disappointed = Dissatisfied, dismayed, displeased, sad because someone or something has failed to fulfill one’s hopes or expectations

May our desires, hopes, longings and treasures not be for God to do something but for Him.

Note to self: He is all your heart longs for.
He is the treasure.
He is the only thing that offers the living water to quench this thirsty soul. And He doesn’t just offer directions to the water that we may seek it elsewhere, He himself is the Water.
He is the bread, the wine, the sustenance of my heart. I have tasted and seen that He.is.good.

His way was through the sea and His plans established before the world was made, when He spoke out the universe with the word of life.

His sovereign ways are unsearchable and His gentle shepherding most loving and wise.

His paths lead to life and His heart is only good.

He does not disappoint.
