“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons;
He removes kings and sets up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
He reveals deep and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with Him.”
(Daniel 2:20-22)
Fall is my favorite season.
And a Saturday with no plans (which hardly ever happens) means you pull up your paint table outside in the crisp fall air and drink the pumpkin spice brûlée tea with Canadian honey that your best girls gave you while diving into the Word and another good book while watching the gold leaves fall.
Grace is here.
Here are some snapshots from around my old Kentucky home this morning.
If you were here, reader friend, we would enjoy the crisp air (and leaves, perfect for crunching) and sip coffee and talk about how we can see the Gospel proclaimed in the death of leaves and grass and flowers and how it whispers that new life is coming in the spring.
Grace is here.

Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile. -William Cullen Bryant

I’m not going to lie to you, when this leaf landed in my cup it scared me and I jumped. I think God was laughing.
