Do you believe that all the blessings you need are in Christ?
My pastor posed this question to our church yesterday, and now I pose it to you (and myself once again).
Do you really believe that all the blessings you need are in Christ?
If so, why are you looking to that person for approval, validation, value and acceptance?
Why do you think that job is going to balance some internal off-kilter thirst for satisfaction?
Why do you think that paycheck or purchase will make you happy?
Why do you live like your performance dictates your worth?
How much different would our lives look if we truly grasped that all we need, want and desire is found in Jesus, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Eph. 1:22)?
Perhaps that’s what true Christianity is; living and breathing in everything God is for us in Christ by continually dying to the belief that what we desire most is elsewhere.
To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. –2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
