I am so thankful for good reading.

Reading that is passionate, honest, deep and drives me to Jesus.

Currently I’m reading Experiencing the Presence of God by A.W. Tozer and What Jesus Demands From the World by John Piper while re-reading The Mark of a Man by Elisabeth Elliot.

Excellent books.

However, I also try to find time to exercise my heart and mind by reading blogs throughout the week and the following blogs were completely used by the Lord for me, and, although you’ll find a variety of topics, they all have the same goal: the exaltation of Christ.

A man wandered in the desert for many days after his vehicle had broken down.  No sign of help.  No sign of food or water.  The heat of the noonday sun was bearing down upon him and discouragement began to sit in.  His legs were giving out and just when he thought he wasn’t going to make it another step, he saw it.  There just a few yards from where he was, stood a well.

No. 2. Be humble! One thing that’s awesome about not having everything perfectly together, is that it gives you a chance to SHOW it. Show you are human and broken and need God. That is so attractive to me. Sidenote: Insecurity is not attractive. But security in Christ in the midst of your failings is a HUGE eye-catcher.

God calls us as Christians to such a higher standard than we so often set for ourselves, and that the world sets for us. We justify it by saying that it is harmless, and for entertainment purposes only, but mark it down, that we can not live set-apart lives with one foot in the world.

We can not be dazzled by the things of the world AND the things of the Lord.
